Steve Anderson

President/CEO - Interim Healthcare Solutions (IHS)

          Steve Anderson is an ccomplished executive leader who combines an effective mix of operational, marketing and strategic business management skills to provide consulting and interim management support for Independent Living, Assisted Living, Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC’s) and Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF’s). Steve has enjoyed a long and stable career in senior housing – bringing expertise and passion to meet his clients’ challenges.
          The cornerstone to Mr. Anderson’s career began in sales for a healthcare company based in Seattle, Washington in 1987. Within one year, he was promoted to Vice President of Sales and Marketing to oversee revenue growth of over 300% within five years. An aggressive company growth plan was developed and executed as clinics were opened in seven new markets and four states within three years. Mr. Anderson successfully coordinated this plan, leading a sales and marketing team by leveraging existing corporate relationships into enter entirely new markets. Steve worked in the capacity of Vice President and Sales and marketing for Objective Medical Assessments Corporation (OMAC) from 1986 – 1991.
          Steve was recruited by Beverly Healthcare and relocated to Spokane, Washington where he began his career in Long Term Care as a Skilled Nursing Administrator (SNF). After successfully turning around a smaller, troubled facility he went on to enjoy a highly successful career with Beverly Healthcare for nearly ten years. During his tenure with Beverly, Mr. Anderson was able to achieve four back-to-back deficiency free State surveys, receiving accommodations not only by the DSHS Regional Manager – but his community was also highlighted in a series of media events unprecedented at the time. Mr. Anderson set out, and successfully achieved, every objective measure of success as established by state, federal and corporate standards, including five “Awards of Excellence”, Federal look behind survey, nearly 100% Friends and Family satisfaction, exceeding budgeted occupancy and NOI each year. Beverly soon recognized his leadership abilities promoting him to oversee the administrative functions of a new 120-bed sub acute skilled nursing home under construction in Spokane, WA. Steve successfully managed this community for three years and was promoted to a Regional Business Development position. Steve worked for Beverly Healthcare from 1991 – 1999
          Mr. Anderson was recruited by S.L. Start a privately held corporation to provide Executive oversight for Start Communities, which owned, operated and held management contracts for Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care communities in Washington, Idaho and California.

          Steve worked in the capacity of Vice President of Operations, and as Vice President of Development. Mr. Anderson provided operational, regulatory and financial management for Start communities in Washington, Idaho and California with operating budgets of over $50 million dollars. Start communities ranged in size from a 66 bed IL/AL to 300+ campus communities leasing “right to occupy” Independent cottage homes, Independent Living, Assisted Living and Dementia communities. As Vice President of Development for Start Communities, Mr. Anderson was responsible for site location, pre-marketing competitor analysis, demographic analysis utilizing Claritas Senior Life reports, determining market penetration, site plans, facility layout development, interior design, facility design/needs analysis, completion/filing of RCFE/Boarding Home applications in WA/CA, public testimony in public hearings and local political involvement. Mr. Anderson also oversaw the start up, development and operational maturity of four new properties and was involved in the start up of two additional properties in San Jose, CA. Mr. Anderson worked for Start Communities from 1999 – 2007 when the partners decided to sell remaining properties. Mr. Anderson was an equity partner in Start Communities.
         Eskaton, a not for profit corporation based in Sacramento California recruited Mr. Anderson during the sale and transition of Start Communities. Steve relocated to Sacramento California as he accepted the position of Senior Operations and Marketing Director for Eskaton. With board approval, Mr. Anderson was brought on to replace Mr. Trevor Hammond – COO who was to retire from Eskaton after over twenty years of service. Steve oversaw the operations and marketing for Eskaton’s portfolio of SNF’s, CCRC, Independent Living and Assisted Living communities, Affordable Housing properties, Adult Day Health and its Home Health Agency. Steve worked for Eskaton from January 2007 until September 2007. A significant downturn in the California real estate/senior housing markets delayed the retirement of Trevor Hammond., COO. At the request of the board of directors, Mr. Hammond postponed his retirement indefinitely. Trevor Hammond is still the COO of Eskaton. A corporate re-structure occurred and Mr. Anderson position was eliminated.
          Mr. Anderson started Interim Healthcare Solutions (IHS), LLC in 2009 after serving in an interim Regional Director position. Mr. Anderson is the President/CEO for IHS which provides consulting and interim management services for providers across the senior housing continuum. Mr. Anderson is a well known and a seasoned professional bringing nearly twenty years of operational and marketing successes to emloyers and clients. Lisa Anderson

 

Financial Consultant - IHS

     Lisa brings more than 20 years of accounting and auditing experience to Interim Healthcare Solutions. Lisa served as the Chief Financial Officer for Presbeterian Ministries, Inc  for over ten years a $50 million company that owned and operated multi-facility continuing care retirement communities in Washington State.  In this capacity Lisa directed the firm's accounting, finance and human resources departments.

     Before that, she was an auditor for the FDIC, a corporation that insures bank deposits and worked in the capacity of internal auditor for PACCAR, Inc., a diversified, multi-national company engaged in the manufacturing and financing of heavy duty vehicles.

     Lisa's extensive experience provides our valued clients with strong financial and reporting mechanisms designed to work in concert with our event operations department

 

Alice Semingson

Nurse Consultant - IHS

Alice Semingson RNC has a solid career in nursing services, education and training for over 25 years. Alice is passionate about her career in healthcare and has rose from the ranks of charge nurse and Director of Nursing Services (DNS) in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) to and experienced assisted living administrator, owner operator of a retirement community, educator, nurse consultant and litigation consultant expert in geriatrics.
